Milford Mining Company

The Milford Mining Company Project represents Horizon Corporation’s expansion into the United States. Located in Utah, a mining-friendly jurisdiction with excellent infrastructure, Milford offers a rare opportunity to bring a high-quality US copper, gold, and silver operation back into production.

The Milford Project was previously an operating open pit copper-gold-silver mine with a processing capacity of approximately 60,000 tonnes of ore per month. Over $140 million was invested by prior operators into the existing processing plant and associated infrastructure, which has been maintained in good working order. This foundation provided Horizon with a cost-effective platform to restart operations while avoiding many of the capital intensity challenges faced by new builds.

Horizon’s technical team identified multiple opportunities to optimize both mining and processing activities at Milford. With the benefit of existing permits and a fully built processing facility, the Milford Project was well positioned for a timely return to production and is now entering a capital development project for a major mill and throughput expansion.
