Manica Gold Mine

The Manica Gold Project represents one of Horizon Corporation’s cornerstone operations and a strong example of our ability to deliver results even in the face of global challenges. Constructed in the Covid-19 pandemic, the project transitioned from development to production smoothly, establishing itself as a key contributor to our growing portfolio of producing assets.

In 2021, construction of the Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) processing plant was initiated, supported by targeted funding that demonstrated confidence in the project’s long-term potential. Despite significant logistical disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic — from supply chain bottlenecks to travel restrictions — the project team successfully navigated these headwinds. Their dedication and adaptability allowed the plant to be commissioned on schedule in July 2022, a milestone achievement that underscored Horizon’s operational discipline.

From the outset, Manica’s operations generated positive cash flow, a clear signal of both the project’s robust economics and efficient ramp-up strategy. Today, the mine continues to perform strongly at steady-state production, delivering consistent results that align with Horizon’s commitment to financial strength, operational reliability, and long-term value creation for all stakeholders.
